Paris has a way of making almost everything feel special, the architecture, the cafés, the boulangeries, the people, the food. And as a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by just how much there is to enjoy.
Two places that definitely deserve a tip of the hat are Land&Monkeys, the brilliant 100% plant-based bakery, and Green Farmer’s, where the vegan burgers are seriously worth seeking out.
Land&Monkeys is especially fun because it takes classic French bakery favourites: croissants, pastries, sandwiches and more and makes them completely plant-based. (Try their Monkey cookies!).
Green Farmer’s is another great stop if you’re craving something hearty, with a menu built around 100% vegan burgers and plant-based comfort food. Yes I'm talking about the falafel burger!
But there was one thing I really missed while wandering around Paris: my vegan app.
At home, I’m used to being able to walk into a shop and quickly spot the vegan products. In Paris, it wasn't always so obvious. In supermarkets and stores products aren't necessarily marked clearly as vegan, which meant reading labels, checking ingredients and sometimes wondering whether something that looked vegan actually was.
Paris is an amazing city for a vegan but having a little digital help makes it so much easier. Because once you know where to look, the food is fantastic.
I recommend two things: Paris and downloading your vegan app before you go.
